According to the Chinese calendar,
2025 is the yin Wood Snake year (aka Green or Azure Snake), but it should be remembered that the start of the yin Wood Snake year does not coincide with the beginning of the western year (January 1st). The astrological year of the yin Wood Snake starts on February 3rd 2025, and will end on February 3rd, 2026. So, it is important to remember that from January 1st, 2025 until February 2nd-3rd, 2025, we still are in the previous astrological year, the yang Wood Dragon year.
The Snake is the fourth zodiac animal of the seasonal cycle
in the Chinese calendar, it is the first summer animal, and is mainly connected to the Fire energy. In the yin Wood Snake year, the leading energies will be Wood, Fire and Metal, especially yin Wood and yang Fire. Earth is weaker and there is no Water.
Like the previous year, this year Wood is still strong, particularly yin Wood. Unlike other years, however, the presence of Fire allows it to evolve and transform, which is a good thing.
2025 Feng Shui General Assessment: Tai Sui, Sui Po and San Shas
In Feng Shui, we say that in 2025 the Lord of the Year is the Snake, also called the Tai Sui or Grand Duke of the Year. The Snake is associated with southeast direction, specifically standing at southeast 3. Thus, the whole sector (or South East Palace) is associated with the Tai Sui.
Opposite to the Snake, we find the Pig at northwest 3. The Pig is the Snake’s enemy; it is called Sui Po, or Year Breaker.
In addition to Tai Sui and Sui Po, we must also take into account the San Shas, which represent difficult or dangerous directions. / In a Snake year, the San Shas are generally connected to the east direction.
We have Robbery Sha at northeast 3, Tiger direction; / Calamity Sha at east 2, Rabbit direction; / finally, the Earth Sha is at southeast 1, in the Dragon direction.

How can these Shas manifest themselves?
Robbery Sha indicates the possibility of something actually being stolen from you, but much more often, the possibility of losing something we have, or something we thought we had already gained.
This can also be on a metaphorical level, so not necessarily a loss of a physical asset, such as money, but it can be something that is stolen on an abstract level: an idea, a recognition, a promotion.
Calamity Sha is the strongest type of Sha, and is related to problems of various kinds, setbacks, difficulties.
Finally, the Annual Sha or Earth Sha is always connected to delays, slowdowns, blockages, difficulties in moving forward, and things of that nature.
The last piece of information concerns the flying stars. The most problematic star is star 5, which is located in the northeast this year. Star 5 is associated with unforeseen events, disasters, sudden changes. Therefore, this year northeast is a very sensitive direction.

Most challenged areas and directions in 2025
First of all, the northeast, southeast and northwest areas should not be touched this year; therefore, even minimal changes to the interiors should be avoided, like knocking down, moving furniture or changing function (for example, a study room becomes a bedroom). If you really need to make changes in these areas, you can use the 2025 Feng Shui Guide Planner to select a good day.
This is even more important for houses facing southeast, southwest, or northwest. As they are the most sensitive dwellings, they should not undergo changes anywhere inside or outside of the house.

Removals, relocations, and property purchases in 2025
In addition, this year you should not buy or move into a dwelling that has its back to the northeast or northwest. You should also avoid dwellings that have a northeast, southeast or northwest front door. Bed positioning 2025
Regarding bed positioning, in the Green Snake year you should definitely avoid placing a bed with the back to the northeast, east or north west, unless you are very careful with Date Selection. Desk positioning 2025

What about placing a fountain or a fish tank? Now, first here we are talking about a small water feature to be placed inside your home, something you can easily move each end every year. This year the best is southeast direction (you can take the direction from the centre of the room where you want to place the fountain). This will enhance growth and earnings.
Remember you have to follow some important rules about placing a water feature. You also need to accurately select the right date to start the water feature.
Wealth corner 2025
What is the best direction to activate the wealth corner? Southeast and southwest directions are best (you can take the direction from the centre of the room where you want to place the installation). The wealth corner encourages the accumulation of resources and limits expenditure.
Remember that there are some important rules to follow for the wealth corner, otherwise it will not work. The fountain and the wealth corner cannot be placed together. Traveling in 2025: challenging directions
Finally, with regard to long or important journeys, avoid travelling northeast, southeast, southwest or northwest direction, especially in specially in certain months.

2025 Feng Shui – Flying Stars
First, you have to determine the back and front of your house, which is usually quite intuitive. If you do not know how to do this, you can ask for help on our Community. You can join the Community for free.
Once you have determined the back and the facing, draw a 3×3 grid on the floor plan of your house. This grid is called “Ba Gua”. Then, using a common compass, mark the north direction, and then mark all other directions clockwise. In this way, you will associate each of the nine boxes with a specific geographical direction.
In Feng Shui, each of these nine boxes is called a ‘Palace’.
Do not place the Ba Gua with the north where the front door is, as you read on the Internet or in some book, this has nothing to do with Feng Shui, it is a completely wrong method that you should definitely avoid. This is very important!

2025 Feng Shui North Palace
Yearly star 7 yin Metal is visiting the North Palace. Star 7 bears disputes, theft, violence, contrast, judgement, viciousness, destruction, fast action. This is not a good star; it has a mixed effect. On the one hand, this star positively reinforces the Lord of the Palace, star 1. On the other hand, it retains its negative qualities associated with Star 5.
Thus, this year North direction is good for achieving development and growth through drastic, invasive, direct means or through cunning and manipulation. It also favours flirtation and falling in love, so it can be used with a Feng Shui activator when the monthly star 4 transits north.
Because of this configuration, the north is not suitable for activating the wealth corner.
2025 Feng Shui Northeast Palace
Yearly star 5 Fire/Earth is visiting the North East Palace. Star 5 is the most unfavourable one. It is related to sudden and unexpected changes, accident, misfortune, perversion, disaster, but spirituality and personal evolution too.
Do not make any minor or major changes in this area. If possible, do not use this area. Do not add red colour. If you have to use this area, use it for a quiet activity. If the area is missing, cut, blocked – this is better in 2025. The same if here there is a bathroom, a toilet, a closet or secondary rooms.
If you can see a lake, a pond, or a swimming pool outside in northeast direction, you are already safe. If you can use this area for meditation or spiritual purposes, that is good. Don’t engage in risky activities here.
In 2025, the north east area is the worst one. Do not start demolition or construction work in this area.
2025 Feng Shui East Palace
Yearly star 9 Fire is visiting the East Palace. Star 9 is related to activity, help, prosperity, new ideas. In this Palace, Star 9 is particularly favourable for expression and activity. It is a yang room, more suitable for daytime activities; less suitable for rest and relaxation – it can bring excessive excitement and exhaustion, with stress on the heart meridian.
Very favourable for creativity, especially in the technical-scientific sphere; also suitable for research, development, new ideas, earnings. Beware, however, of stress and overexcitement.
This is one of the best areas in 2025. However, do not place a bed or desk with your back to the east this year, especially in the east and west zones.
2025 Feng Shui Southeast Palace
Yearly star 1 Water is visiting the South East Palace. This is a very good star, bearing development, growth, expansion, studies, novelty, fame, success. It boosts academic success, especially in literature and arts. It helps studies and favours social network expansion.
This area is also very good for long-term growth, gains, and success in your work. There is also a potential of earnings if this is your working position. This area is also good for receiving help and for personal and family tranquillity.
This is probably the best area in 2025.
If you have a specific goal, you can reinforce star 1 with a small fountain placed in the southeast direction. The water must always be moving. Use the lunisolar calendar to pick a good date to start the fountain. Remember: never put a fountain in bedrooms, long corridors, secondary rooms, stairs.
In 2025, the southeast area is associated with Tai Sui, so you should not make any changes or renovations. If you still want to do it, it is much better to do it before 2025 February 3rd or after 2026 February 4th.
Do not start any demolition or construction work in the southeast area. In general, if you have a house facing southeast or northwest, it would be best to avoid renovations or alterations anywhere this year.
2025 Feng Shui South Palace
Yearly star 6 yang Metal is visiting the South Palace. This is a good star, bearing authoritativeness, authority, career, power, command, determination, and reputation improvements. It helps military career and literary pursuits, career in corporation or big companies. It favours long life and health. It is also favourable for medical and health matters and studies.
However, star 6 is not in the best position in the south.
There may be problems or conflicts with authority. The family hierarchy may be challenged. If this area is occupied by teenagers, there may be disputes. Career possibilities are limited; possible conflicts with superiors.
2025 Feng Shui Centre Palace
Yearly star 2 yin Earth is visiting the Centre Palace. Star 2 has mixed qualities. Star 2 has to do with activating your social network, nurturing, fertility, wealth, health, completion; but diseases and blockages too.
In this Palace, star 2 is favourable, especially for activities related to construction, planning, architecture. This area favours the completion of projects.
If the central area forms a single room with the east, southeast, south, or southwest areas, it is even better. If the centre is free and open, the effect is better. If the centre is reduced, blocked, cut off or unusable, it is worse, because you lose most of these advantages.
2025 Feng Shui Southwest Palace
Yearly star 8 yang Earth is visiting the South West Palace. This is a good star, bearing help, assistants, happiness, small earnings. This is one of the best areas in 2025.
Because of this configuration, this year the southwest direction is very good for activating the wealth corner, either in the hall or in a study or work room. You must look for the southwest direction from the centre of the room.
Remember that the wealth cosition must be set up in a suitable corner, otherwise it will not work. This can be done in any of the 8 Palaces, not just the South West Palace.
2025 Feng Shui West Palace
Yearly star 4 yin Wood is visiting the West Palace. Star 4 is the “lesser fortune” star. It helps love, creativity, academic success, studies, arts.
However, in 2025 star 4 in the west is not very favourable. Therefore, we generally advise against using it – better to use the monthly star 4. In conclusion, it is better for women not to activate star 4 in the west; men, on the other hand, can do so – but not if they are looking for an important relationship (if you are already in a couple and activate star 4, you are heading for a break-up).
In this area, there are conflicts between younger and older women. In general, there should be no major arguments between women (e.g. with the mother-in-law). This year, adult women may suffer from love competition from younger women, so be careful with your relationship. Also be careful to avoid messy relationships. For men, there is an increase in potential partners and some free sex in sight!
If this area is occupied by a teenager, watch out for his acquaintances. Also, do not place a bed or desk with your back to the east this year, especially in the east and west zones.
2025 Feng Shui Northwest Palace
Yearly star 3 yang Wood is visiting the North West Palace. Star 3 is related to competition, assertion, arguments, ambition, inventions, ranking, determination, persistence, impulse, stubbornness, corruption. In this Palace, it is not favourable.
This is a yang room, more suitable for daytime activities, with strong energy clashes; less suitable for rest and relaxation – it can lead to stress and exhaustion. In this area, you must be careful of domestic accidents and avoid risky activities.
In 2025, the northwest direction is also the Sui Po. Avoid changes in this area, even small ones. This area should be left quiet and used only for normal daily activity. Do not move or change furniture. Do not start construction or demolition in this area. In general, for homes facing southeast or northwest, it would be best to avoid renovations and building alterations anywhere this year.
If this room is used by a male child, there may be problems with discipline or attempts at rebellion, conflicts with the father. Much better if it is used for work or study: it can produce excellent results and earnings – although one must still be careful of stress.
